Classroom information is processed on your device

Classroom names, fixed roster groups and membership, selected scope, rosters, inclusion settings, participation counts, no-repeat rounds, up to 100 recent activity records per classroom, teacher-entered response statuses, correct/incorrect/partial/ungraded question counts, cumulative student response and answer totals, latest undo data, saved teams, locks, student photo thumbnails, a school badge, and preferences are stored in this browser using IndexedDB when available. Older localStorage workspaces can be migrated, and localStorage is used as a fallback when it can hold the workspace. The application does not upload these records to our server. Answer and response recording is optional. No free-text student notes, automatic grading, public student rankings, or student accounts are provided. Imported files are read locally and exports are created on your device. Selected PNG, JPEG, and WebP photos are resized into browser-local thumbnails. Images are not loaded from external photo URLs.

Existing data from the earlier version can be migrated in this browser. Successful saves remove the earlier application's legacy storage entry. Anyone with access to your browser profile can potentially view saved data; browser storage is not an encrypted vault. Use minimal identifiers and avoid sensitive information.

Display masking, exports, and settings links

Name display can show full names, initials, or student numbers across the tool and CSV exports. This is a display preference, not data encryption or anonymization. Full names remain visible in explicit roster/student editors and are included in JSON workspace backups along with student photos and the school badge. Switching to initials or student numbers hides student photos by default, but you can explicitly enable them. A visible face may identify a student even when the name is masked. Classroom titles are not masked.

Shared links contain tool settings in a URL fragment. The application never adds names, classroom titles, results, or teams to these links. Recipients can choose to apply the settings. People who receive a link can see the included preferences. Your browser or sharing service may retain the link in its history or messages.

Network requests and hosting

The application's scripts, styles, and icon are served from this website, and it uses system fonts. Loading the website sends a request to its hosting provider, which may process your IP address, browser details, request time, and requested URL according to its own operational practices. Your roster is not included in those requests. Optional result sounds are generated in your browser without sending roster data.

Advertising, analytics, and cookies

This version includes no advertising code or analytics scripts. The application does not set cookies and does not sell roster data. Hosting infrastructure may perform its own operational logging or use storage for access controls. Advertising or analytics would require an updated notice and appropriate consent controls before activation.

Your controls and deletion

Clear roster removes names in the selected roster scope and saved random teams while retaining result history and names in other scopes. Clear beside recent activity removes that classroom's recent records while retaining pick counts, cumulative response totals, and the current round. Reset classroom response totals removes response/answer totals and recent activity records while retaining roster entries, pick counts, and the current round. Delete removes an entire classroom when more than one exists. Undo data is cleared by roster edits, resets, or clearing history.

To remove all application data, including every classroom and preference, clear this website's data in browser settings, including IndexedDB and localStorage. Download backups first if you want to keep your records. Files already downloaded are separate copies under your control and must be managed or deleted separately. Browser private sessions and storage settings may prevent retention.

Classroom use and correspondence

The tools are intended to be operated by teachers, facilitators, or responsible adults. Student accounts are not offered. Follow your organization's rules and obtain any required permissions before entering personal information.

If you email the operator, the information you choose to send is handled through email services and used to respond. Do not send student rosters or sensitive information. You can contact the operator about information supplied through correspondence; the operator cannot access or delete a browser-local roster remotely.

Public guides and classroom workspace

The public information site at callingyou.net and the classroom workspace intended for app.callingyou.net run on separate origins. Public guide pages do not load the classroom database or roster-processing scripts. Images in these guides are served from the public site; example names and records in screenshots are fictional. Moving your workspace from an earlier hosted address requires a JSON backup and restore.

Local voice announcements and wheel images

Optional spoken-name announcements use only voices the browser reports as local. Remote voices are excluded, and no microphone permission is requested. Announcements use the current name-display preference. Available voices and pronunciation vary by device. Wheel background and center images are resized locally and stored with your preferences. Full JSON backups contain these images and voice preferences; settings links exclude them.

Outdoor activities

The Outdoor Activities section runs on the classroom workspace origin. It stores independent activity rosters, optional copied thumbnails and school badge, random teams, captains, point adjustments, matches, match rules, first-turn decisions, timers, and preferences in a separate browser-local IndexedDB database, with localStorage fallback. It can read a saved classroom roster on that same origin to create an independent snapshot; it does not change classroom records. There are no accounts, remote live updates, or third-party ad or analytics scripts in the activity workspace.

Outdoor JSON backups are separate from classroom backups and contain original participant names and copied images. CSV and print output follow the selected display mode. Clearing the workspace website data removes both browser databases; downloaded copies must be managed separately. The rock-paper-scissors decider generates two independent random gestures and animates them for five seconds before showing the result. Gestures and series scores are held in memory until the dialog closes. Only a chosen fixture starting team is saved; the decider does not change match scores.
